The final day in Bangkok was spent seeing the last major sights we could fit it in our limited time here.
We started the day at Jim Thompson's museum- an American who came to Asia and did amazing things to the silk industry (I think!), he mysteriously went missing at the age of 61 and to this day the mystery has not been solved...
We also saw the reclining Buddha and the world's largest Buddha at Wat Po- a truly incredible sight, it was huge!!! There was also a wonderful ritual of paying 20 Baht (less than £1) for a metal container full of small coins and walking along 108 metal bowls and dropping a coin in each bowl (see pics). Like many things over here, there is great ritual and superstition behind these acts, all with the ultimate goal of finding inner peace, alignment and good fortune.
I am loving the great diversity of the fellow tourists I am meeting. I met a wonderful couple who (unknowingly) taught me the power of pure alignment.
Whilst we were chatting, they casually mentioned they are staying in a suite (casual being the operative word as they didn't even know what the name of the type of suite it was- except it was one of the top tiers!). Which blew me away, as the type of suites can easily cost $5,000-$10,000+ per person for little over a week! It sounded like they are very successful in their jobs that they do and it really struck me how aligned they seemed. They weren't show offy, nor did they over explain their abundantnesses, it just was.
And from that place of strength they were able to uplift those around them. When I asked what they were going to do with all their leftover Thai currency (as we all had quite a lot to spare), they just plainly stated they were going to give it all to our tour guide (admittedly it wasn't much for us as the Western currency is much stronger) but was probably a huge amount for our guide. I just appreciated how plain and open they were about it- no muss and no fuss, it just is!
Now, admittedly, in our Law Of Attraction school of thinking it is more fun to pre pave, appreciate and talk about our current situations and what we want to come, but what I learned from this couple is the power of alignment- when you know it, you know it and there is not necessarily a need to assess, address or redress it constantly. I would imagine that talking to a 'successful' celebrity there would be that same strength of alignment in their beingness.
I just love the diversity and collection of data from meeting people who I would never normally meet in my daily life. All for the experience!
Definitely looking forward to a rest as Bangkok has wiped me out. All is well!
Happy self knowing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
