I woke up a little early this morning (feeling like P Diddy... Ke$ha anyone?! Lol), and I put on some Abe to relax to. Although I'm not the nostalgic type, for some reason I still love the Mexico cruise recordings from 2009 and 2010 (and it was there I got into the hot seat again on my birthday no less! Though I don't really listen to my bit- who likes the sound of their own voice?! Lol)!
Anyhoo, for me, they rate amongst the best. They cover such a diversity of topics- self love, suicide, animals, health, authoring and much more!
I have to say I felt much bolstered by this injection of focused positivity in the morning. Buzzing as I walked to the station, It really hit home that setting yourself up for a good morning really helped with the mindset for the hours ahead.
There's a reason why they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even though I don't know quite why, I'm guessing in part it's because you're replenishing from the night before and prepping for the day ahead.
It really reinforced to me how valuable it can be to kick start your day in a good state!
Group members ask me when's the best time to do processes. Whilst there is not a one-way-for-all answer (as is the case with everything!), generally speaking, the beginning and end of the day are good times to do some focusing. To be honest, all day everyday would be ideal but hey!
This is because at the beginning of the day you're starting as you mean to go on, a fresh slate after a hopefully decent night's sleep. The end of the day you're winding down getting ready to dream the night away, so it is beneficial to leave your mind in as relaxed state as possible. You're stopping negative momentum as best you can!
I know (especially from seeing my sister!) that mothers and so on, might not have much/any spare time but even a few minutes can make the world of difference! You owe it to yourself to work yourself into a good space when you can.
Someone commented they just don't have time to put pen to paper. And a wise group member said get a 'gratitude rock'- get a crystal or rock, hold it and just run through in your mind, things you are appreciative of from the day, or generally. Doesn't really take any extra time (of which one would probably be complaining about stuff anyhoo!), just a wee bit o' focus! The rock doesn't really signify anything, it's just a point of focus.
So if you haven't already- try it! Start/end your day with some relaxing music, meditation, positive clips, a passage out of a book etc. And see how it goes! Hopefully you'll love it!
Happy morning-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
