Michel Roux Jnr did a wonderful programme taking a group of youngsters with some sort of no direction and/or a contrasting past. One of the girls was exceptionally sharp and wonderful when she smiled (although she did have a scowl a lot of the time!). Her story was that she was a teen mum and she didn't think very highly of herself. At the beginning she was very defensive and kept telling her story and using this an excuse to not try or change. Mr Roux kept trying to reassure her that many of his staff were young mothers and they managed to do well but she wasn't really having any of it.
It really struck me that a lot of us do that, either consciously or unconsciously. We keep telling our old stories and using excuses to prevent us breaking through and being the pioneers our vortexes are calling us to be. 'It's because I was not pretty enough/my gender/my upbringing/my parents/my race/my sexuality and so on and so on. It may have been true and valid back then but your point of power is now. Why use it as an excuse to not step into your power right here, right now? If you can desire it, then you can allow it in, no matter what!
Be willing to open your heart and let it in. There are so many people out there who would be willing to love and support and help you. And even if not, you've got you and the power that creates Universes at your fingertips.
Drop your defences, let go of the excuses and see what happens, it may not be easy nor a smooth transition, but when you can place your faith and trust in yourself and the Universe, when you can really know that you'll never get it done and it never goes wrong, you'll be living the life you chose to before you come into this physical beingness.
All is well!
Happy excuse-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
