I was watching a Tapping Summit interview with Dr Christiane Northrup and Jessica Ortner and they were discussing health and what we believe as societal constructs vs what is 'real' eg. by a certain age women need to have given birth, or that decline and illness is the norm as we get older.
Christiane also said something which caught my attention- 'Your salary is the average of your 5 closest friends.' Now I'm not quite sure how much it rings true for everyone but it does raise the good point that who your friends are (because let's face it- you don't have quite the conscious choice of who your family is), are a reflection of who you are- your values and how you live life. Like-attracts-like, both on a vibrational sense and in a very real sense with the physical stuff you have around you. Your friends are likely to think, act and live in relatively similar circumstances as yourself, so it's worth just evaluating if they are a positive mirror. Do they support you in your dreams, do you feel comfortable in their presence, do you push each other (nicely!) to great new heights?
On a side note, I was in an IT class ages ago and the teacher asked 'What's the best way to become a millionaire?' Answer- 'Surround yourself with millionaires!' Why? Because you start to think and act in ways in which a millionaire would! If your best friends were Richard Branson, Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey, you can bet your expectations of life would be raised!
A relatively common thing I hear (which really touches me) is that some who come to my groups just don't have anyone else to talk to this about. So it's really thrilling for me to see the connections made between group members. That is a great way to raise consciousness- spend time in the company of those whose qualities you would like to develop for yourself. There are a myriad of ways to connect with like minded beings- all you have to do is get out there!
Have books, audio tracks, pictures, apps etc which help represent the best of who you wish to be.
Dip into upliftment often and it will serve you greatly!
There are a plethora of tools out there- I am just starting to learn EFT/Tapping as another technique to add to my box o' tricks! A great book seems to be The Tapping Solution as taught by the magnificent family of Ortners!
So there you go. Have lots of good things, people and stuff around you and let your average rise to new levels!
All is well!
Happy average-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
