He recounted the story of his education. His adoptive parents were spending so much money on his studies, but he eventually left. He then took a course in calligraphy. Little did anyone know how much this would impact the future of the world!
They studied all the font designs, typography, spacing and much more. Fast forward many years later, when he designed the Mac computer he thought to incorporate all of this knowledge and such stylings and as he states 'As windows just copied the Mac' it's possible that no computer would ever have a variety of typefaces, if it hadn't been for that course and his work.
But it was only many, many years later that he was able to look back across his life and 'connect the dots.' You cannot do this looking forward, you just have to trust that somewhere down the line it will all add up and make sense!
In other words, it's all about enjoying the journey and not caring so much about the end result, because who knows how it'll turn out! Have fun! Life is for enjoying and experiencing.
All is well!!!
Happy font-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
