When England won their world cup match, the streets were filled with insanely joyous people. I hadn’t seen anything like it (most probably as this was the furthest they had got in the World Cup since like ever ha!).
But the levels of happiness was insane. I was along Camden High Street and each car and bus was being stopped by the people in the streets with honks and songs of ‘It’s coming home.’
Being an objective party, it really struck me that this was the meaning of life- the flow and focus of life through someone. Because there was nothing really invested- had they had a lot of money riding on it, then there’s huge joy to be had. But for nothing other than pride of their team winning a game- it was interesting the amount of passion it ignited.
Such is life- you don’t want the thing you think you want. You want it for the feelings, the emotions, the highs and lows that come with it. You want it for the experience!
