Good videos to watch are the TED talks by Brene Brown and Amanda Palmer (can be found on my resources page).
In this day and age where anyone can (unknowingly) be out there for anyone else to peruse, it seems that the desire and reception of authenticity is held in high regard.
We are all human and whilst we love stories of achievement and inspirationally good things happening, who doesn't just love a bit Schadenfreude (delight in another's misfortune). Ok, so that's a bit cruel. But it can be reassuring to know that everyone is human and can make mistakes, 'fails' on some level and has issues.
In this day and age, it can be tempting to put on a brave face and be the strong person that you think your loved one and/or society need you to be. But on the other hand, it's ok to ask for help! If you find a supportive teacher or friend then make the most of it. The more you can be you, the more people will love it.
Oprah, Louise and many others are open about their tough childhoods and it has endeared them to millions.
The thing is to just be open. There's a difference between complaining and working towards a solution. The vibration is completely different. One will keep you in it, one will help lift you out.
Strong introvert that I am (and you may be), I prefer to keep myself to myself in life but when it comes to this stuff, I'm an open book and I like to think people can connect with that.
If you're a freelancer, then being open, out there, honest and visible can help take you to new levels.
Try it and see. You are always loved and protected by all that is, so just let go of anyone else's response to you.
Happy vulnerable-ing!!!
