You don't necessarily need to go to a quiet room with candles, incense and sit cross legged to meditate and connect with self. You can do that anywhere, on the bus, tube, during a lunch break. Whatever you can do to steal some time to relax and breathe!
The other day I was doing my laundry and I had a lot of sheets and hoodies and stuff to wash and just about managed to fit them all in our building's washing machine.
I had to sit there for a while as I wanted to actually see if the water from the machine was able to do all of the clothes. It took a few minutes but it did!
I was mesmerised by it as it spun round and more and more water was being released. I found it rather meditative. Drawing me to focus on the moment and in the now.
It showed me that you can focus on anything with the intention to breathe and relax, that's really what mediation is. Allowing the mind to go beyond and let the body relax.
All is well!!!
