The new series of Black Mirror is out on Netflix and I am loving it. It's reflection of the dark side of tech and life is rather enthralling!
One of the episodes, brilliantly directed by Jodie Foster was about helicopter parenting. The mother was able to install a harm filter on her child's vision- so if anything which was stressful were to occur, the child's vision would be blurred so they wouldn't have to deal with it.
You can imagine the dangers of that- not only were they unable to know what 'bad' things were and at the end when there was bad twist, the child (now adult) wasn't able to see how much damage she had to do her mother when she beat her with the tablet...
Anyhoo, moving swiftly on... The point is that you can't and really wouldn't want to shield yourself, child, loved one or whoever from the negative that's going on in the world. Everyone has to experience their own contrast and make the necessary adjustments to work through it. It's why we came here in the first place.
