I was watching a TED talk by Jill Boyle Taylor- standing ovation material for sure!
She is a neuroanatomist who details her experience of having a stroke. Amongst other things, which weren't so pleasant, she experienced this huge awakening of Nirvana.
Her Spirit was set free! She experienced the hugeness of the larger consciousness that is all that is. And consequently, she came to the realisation that if she could do it whilst in her physical body now (as she thought she it may have been time to transition!), then anyone could.
She felt like a 'genie liberated from her bottle.' She experienced Nirvana and how could she squeeze the enormousness of her beingness back into her body? It hit her that she was still alive and hadn't died. And if she could find this now, then we all could choose to do that. What a gift- a stroke of insight in her life and motivated her to recover.
And the keyword here is 'choice', you can choose separation and hate or you can choose connectedness and love. Ultimately neither of them really matter in the grand scheme of things but one of them (hint: love!) is likely to lead to a more enjoyable life.
