My friend went to Iceland (the country not the store ha!), and as it was summer, it was daylight pretty much all day. It drove him crazy, he couldn't sleep and messed with his body clock quite a bit!
When he got back to London he was so grateful for the dark! So it just goes to show, that we literally need the dark as well as the light. It's the balance of contrast that makes life what it is. If it was all good all the time you'd get bored, if it was all bad all the time you'd give up living!
You want the balance of flow and contrast to keep things lively and you on your toes! The thing is to not get too bogged down in the contrast that gives birth to the desire. Take the negative hit and then start working your way towards what you do want.
Appreciate the contrast, as much as you can. That's tricky but that is mastery. You just have to focus and train your mind to not get trapped into a negative cycle.
Have fun with life, lighten up and chillout. It's all ok!
