I am LOVING the movie Cloud Atlas at the moment. It was directed by The Wachowskis (people who did The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (pronounced Tick-Ver just in case you were wondering).
The official synopsis is "an exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution."
It features 6 different stories over various time periods and each actor plays a different character in the time period representing that persons soul- sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes good, sometimes bad.. E.g. Tom Hanks starts off as a criminal and eventually ends up as hero- showing the evolution of his soul over the ages.
I love the profound message of the film- that your soul incarnates with some of the same people (soul family) in many lifetimes. That love conquers all, how we are always expanding and that we are all connected.
Despite a stellar cast (Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon and many more) the film kinda bombed at the box office. I highly recommend it and it needs a few watches (and subtitles) to even kinda fully comprehend the complexity of the film! I like the metaphysicalness meets Hollywood!
The soundtrack is also incredibly stunning! Tom Tykwer not only directed it but composed the music to it. He composes the music before shooting the film and the Wachowskis loved this way of doing things!
So enjoy the movie and allow your mind and soul get wrapped into it and get into Step 3 mode- that of allowing!
Enjoy! All my love, Nick Xxx
