As what makes for good entertainment, a lovely heart warming back story always excites and touches. One story which stood out was one of young gents. The phone store had taken him on in association with the unemployment centre and within a year he had got strong enough to enter the competition. Good on him!
They cut to his family and his dad who seemed to berate him a bit about not having continued his academic studies- sort of a 'I knew you wouldn't amount to anything.' When interviewing him and upon hearing the story one of the judges cried his eyes out. And I got quite teary too!
Now it's not to blame the parent, because they are only doing the best they can...
One of the criticisms that came out in the judging was that he didn't come across with enough enthusiasm. Now it's a bit of catch 22- he wasn't raised with much confidence, he carries himself as such, he doesn't get as far as he could, it reinforces the low self confidence and so on.
But by being conscious, you can break this cycle. You must! Otherwise you'll always get what you've always got!
That's what this work is about, being aware and conscious of things which don't serve you and moving it towards the real you. Confident, bright, self secure, brilliant, intelligent and all that good stuff.
His manager was absolutely lovely. He really screamed at the guy about how well he'd done, in 11 months he'd gotten so far. How smart and how great he is. Now those are the sort of people to surround yourself with. We do not want you to train yourself to reach for the approval and support of those outside you. But that is co creation at its best. To be with others who are willing to see you as great. It's just nice!
As Abe says- you're choosy about what car you drive, the clothes you wear, the food you eat. Be choosy about how you feel and what you think. Be choosy about how you spend your time and with who!
All is well!!!
Happy phone-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
