Reading my Economics-Psychology book got me thinking about expectations and its vibrational effect. To have grand detailed expectations or to have low expectations- that is the question!
As with all things in life- it really depends on you and what feels good and how you best operate.
The bottom line is that you have to align your expectations with your belief systems. Some people out there are very goal oriented, very focused and very sharp minded (think of those business peoples). And for these, a powerful expectation is a no brainer, it feels good, it comes easily and ta da, manifestation station (Ooh I like that!).
For others, (like yours truly!), having expectations can create a little discomfort, it generates or usually exacerbates the control freak within us! So instead of being fun, it develops into 'it must be this way, it must be that way!' Otherwise we get ourselves into a tizz.
So why might 'expecting the worst', or 'not expecting much' yield very pleasing results?
I believe it would have something to do with a lower level of resistance. If you're not expecting much and if it doesn't go as planned, you're not as upset. So keeping it light and loose keeps resistance at bay.
Also, there's a psychological degree of relativity. For example, if you knew you got all the numbers in the lottery and were expecting a prize of at least £10,000,000, but you had found out that hundreds of people had won it too and so your share of the winnings was actually £100,000 (only!), then you would be far more disappointed than if you got a few lottery number right, expected maybe £10,000 but found out your prize was actually £100,000, you'd be off the charts happy!
I've also heard that those who come second in competitions apparently usually feel worse than those who come third. This is because they were a whisker away from being first. Whereas those who come third are usually happy to be placed at all!
So at the end of the day, it's all relative. As with all things, work out what does it for you. If you love to pre pave, plan and prepare then hold your expectations. If you want to be more easy about it, or better yet- have general expectations of well being, goodness and fun, then do that!
Experiment and work out what makes you happy. There are a million ways to joy, just pick that which is right for you.
All is well!
Happy expect-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx

A bit o Belinda and psychology remix in the title there! Well actually the jury is somewhat divided on that. But some psychological studies have shown that this is the case. Anyhoo, that's not really the point I wish to make. I was in Brussels watching Amaluna by the Cirque Du Soleil and it was hold-your-breath-taking!!! The work that goes into that is tremendous, it really is! I was buzzing high from my Liverpool group the other day, on my way home in the relative pitch black after my midnight ish train. When I saw a black cat just to right of me... As if on cue, it walked straight across my path! OMG! That's meant to be a bad thing right? Anyhoo, thankfully, touch wood, nothing has happened haha! Apple or Samsung is the general bone of contention in the phone world. I have to say that I fall on the side of Apple. I was sooo anti Apple for the longest time (their Macs take a bit of getting used to!). But once I had got comfortable with them, I was really impressed at how it was all done and the usability of it. So, I've had back issues since a teen, funky spine and all that shizzle. Anyhoo, it's pretty fine these days. However, it can flare up from time to time! With a relatively sedentary life of desk work and group work, there isn't much running and jumping around. WOWWWW! OMG loved it soooo much! What a powerful, amazing group! Did you notice- it stopped raining afterwards too, woo! Thank you to the wise, loving, supportive souls who came along. It really was a fantastic master mind session!!! Also, for braving the rain- it can be very easy to think 'screw that, I'm going home!' I always feel like flying after being with you and tonight was certainly no exception! Some wise points covered: - Stuff is cool, but ya don't need it to be happy! Going off 'the grid' can be empowering because it frees you to be free! Reach for the feeling of what you want and the basis of it and you'll get there so much faster! - How do you allow big-ness in?! First, appreciate what you do and how far you've come! There are so many things that you've done which others would consider impossible. Take stock of your brilliance! Also start to train yourself to make that 'big' thing, your next logical step. Visualise, plan, day dream, speak to other people living it, whatever it takes to get your consciousness up to speed in a FUN way (operative word being 'FUN'!) - Just love for loves sake! Send the people love and whatever they do is none of your business! But usually they will love you! Because you are sending that vibration out! Duh!?! Wonderful stories of finding partners, world travel, 15 min healings! It is all so inspiring! Go forth and be happy dear ones! You're doing amazingly well!!! Happy rain-ing!!! All my love, Nick Xxx I was listening to Lorne Michaels' Masterclass interview with Oprah. Saturday Night Live seems to be a national institution in the USA! Comedy at its finest. Oprah was commenting about how she did it once and the only 6 day to prepare a show schedule just blew her mind! As always, thank you so much to all the amazing, wisdom, fabulous, brilliant, beautiful beings who came along tonight! I just love it so much! I absolutely love the movie Cloud Atlas (Wachowski-Matrix directors). It was such a fascinating story behind the creation. I believe it is or was, the most expensive independent film made, they had such trouble getting it off the ground! On a side note, when people were giving up, Tom Hanks-man of alignment- pulled everyone together and kept them focused. Wow!!! Thank you all so much for a most powerful session! We learned and connected and took things to new levels! All so wonderful! Thank you all so much for a most wonderful afternoon!!! Happy HYLE-ing!!! Lots of love, Nick Xxx I have been on a health kick for quite a while now and I am constantly developing a fine tuned-ness for what works well for my body. For me at least, I defo feel fresher without gluten, dairy or sugar (though I do love di cake!). Also a wonderful green smoothie from my trusty Nutribullet (that which apparently HRH Kate uses too!), clears my body and mind. There was much ado about Mr. Cumberbatch being in the theatre version of Hamlet. I think he implored people to not use their phone during the performance (I think in the sense of filming him as opposed to taking calls and chatting with loved ones!). But anyhoo, when you're trying to control such crowds it is probably nigh impossible. Much like Beyoncé's tremendous crash down the stairs when she did a live rendition of 'Ring The Alarm', she begged the audience to not YouTube it- I don't think that worked out very well... Wowwwww!!! As always, a most powerful, fun, great group! We had our very first group hi-five! So much fun, laughter, wisdom and great stories. Love it all! Some wonderful points covered: - Love and gratitude! Two important points for life! With these you can't go far wrong, focus and allow more of these in and your vibration will rise and rise! - Keep an eye out for the magic! There are so many things lining up for you. Once you get into alignment then you'll flow, things, places, circumstances will line up for you with the most fun and ease! - Take time for you. Whatever that means, make sure you're well taken care of, you're having fun, you're following your passion. This is vital to your mental, spiritual, physical well being. And when your cup overfloweth you can be of benefit to those who are lucky to know you! - Follow your intuition and gut. Tune into what calls you forward. As Steve Jobs said- they somehow already know what's set up for you. And again, life flows so much more greatly for you. As always, thanks so much for a fun, light, amazing group! All is so very well! Keep laugh-ing!!! Lots of love, Nick Xxx Make the best of where you are, it really is the best of times!!! In so burger many ways!!! Xxx15/9/2015 Now, more than ever (but isn't it always that way?!) it has never been easier to be who you are and express yourself in as many ways as possible. WOWWWWWSAAAAAA!!! SWEET LORD!!! OH MY GOODNESS, a real powerhouse room of people rockin it in London tonight!!! Truly amazing! A great mix of newbies and oldbies- all so smart, so kind, so leading edge! It truly was the most powerful way to spend an evening! I was on the train to a wonderful gong bath a little while ago and there was a lady sat a few rows away. She was on the phone to a sympathetic friend or a work colleague and for what felt like an eternity was going on and on about how mean and horrible her boss was! It can be natural to idolise those big, wonderful people such as: Beyoncé, Branson, Esther, Jerry, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay and so on... Especially when they have done incredible life changing work which has positively impacted millions. But I think it's really important to remember that they are all human and fallible, so to hold them to any standards of perfection is not really encouraged!
With the recent passing of Wayne Dyer, I saw some posts about his leukaemia etc. His family were keen to state that this wasn't the cause of his death and whilst it was lovely for the information I think for those who needed some reassurance or whatever, that's barking up the wrong tree. Same with the passing of Jerry Hicks. I think we all were a little surprised as we expected him to live til past 100 and to be vibrant and vital until his last day but who knows what really went on in his vibration. No one, not even Esther could really really know, so to use that situation to base your belief upon whatever it is you use to base your belief upon is going to be tricky! You've got those sceptics who would use that type of occurrence to not believe in what that teacher is offering- but it's likely that nothing would convince them otherwise. In other words, if you're not going to believe in that school of thought, nothing that could happen would change your mind. Then you've got those who, for example, had serious doubt about the law of attraction when Jerry transitioned. If he couldn't be perfect til the end, then surely it must mean this is a load of tosh?! And that may be the case! But who can really know... What we want for you is to find that which works for you. So you're not relying on anyone else to have to be flawless in order to be proof for you. It is no one's job to be perfect for anyone else. Though we do try! As mothers, fathers, partners, bosses, teachers etc, it can be tempting to be infallible, but that's a tiring job! And you can't be good enough for all people in all ways. On one of the Abe clips someone said they weren't comfortable about Esther and Jerry charging the prices they did for a workshop. Abraham pointed out that all the info was in their book for a few dollars. But also, that Esther and Jerry would be in for a world of hurt if they listened to others- should they be examples of unlimited abundance? Or should they be poor and give it all away?! Everyone wants different things from you at different times. I know for me that life is better than it has ever been with this work. Is it 100% perfect?! Hell no! I gots tons of things that bug me, old and new issues and all sorts but hey, that's life! So the bottom line is that everyone is doing their best and it's not really fair to hold others to impossible standards. Instead work out what works for you by experiencing, testing and trying it out. When you've found your winning formula, live it and make the most of it. And then you'll be the guru from which everyone else expects perfection haha! Happy de-pedestal-ing!!! Lots of love, Nick Xxx The other day I had spent quite a decent amount on food and cake and other bits and pieces and a little niggle of lack hit me- should I be spending so much on frivolousness?! But then I caught myself quickly in that feeling of less than and thought of what way to flip it. A little while ago I wrote about how when my peoples were talking about the radio my attention got stuck there. Well, I did it again... How interesting! I was talking to a colleague of mine and they were telling me that someone they had spoken to was experiencing issues- nothing new there... I am LOVIN IT!!! Thank you so much Brighton for a fun, fun, fun, warm, sunny evening! As always, a most beautiful fun workshop, surrounded with a most beautiful, fun group of people ever! Love, love, love it! If I recall correctly, Jerry Hicks has always been a learner and uplifter in one way or another and he asked Abe what was the value of him being in a circus show (he was a performer/athlete back in the day!). They replied to him that it was a wonderful method of distraction for those in the audience, to provide entertainment is a powerful tool of upliftment. A journey of a gagillon miles begins with a single step- too right!!! There is a fine line between charging into something when you're/it's not vibrationally ready. But on the same note, I think we can end up talking ourselves out of things we really want to do because of fear. |
