Louise Hay: 8th October 1926 - 30th August 2017
Louise is an incredible role model, she had an extremely contrasty start in life (sexual abuse, giving up a baby at a young age and all sorts of heart and soul break). Her first experience of spiritualness was when a friend asked her to come for a lecture but didn't show. Louise could've left, but instead she went in on her own. She then heard the notion 'change your thinking it change your life.' And the rest is history...
She led the successful 'Hay Ride' in the time of the AIDS crisis where no one knew what to do. But she wasn't going to play 'ain't it awful.' As a result she got on The Oprah Show and Donahue and boom- her 1984 book 'Heal Your Life' became one of the biggest selling books in history- published at the age of 58 no less!
Her spiritual company Hay House became a world leader in self improvement. She distributed the work of Abraham Hicks using the principles that they taught- they were going to publish it unedited (apparently many publishers would've fiddled with the words of Abe) and allow it to be, they weren't going salesy with it, instead, allowing the work to naturally disseminate.
In 2008, at the age of 82 she made the 'You Can Heal Your Life' movie, featuring the late Wayne Dyer, Abraham, Cheryl Richardson, Doreen Virtue and many others.
She is an example of how it's done! What I love about her is that even though she had deep issues due to her early life, she worked hard to change her beliefs and apply what she teaches. A true example of how consciousness can change someone's life.
I first came across her work in my teens and though I didn't quite understand it, I loved the tone of her work. A few years later I came across her movie and in it I saw Abraham Hicks which led me to their Law Of Attraction work and that's when things really took off for me.
I have always revisited Louise's work and a few years ago I took the 'Heal Your Life' teacher training where I have met some of my most amazing friends and we teach together (Gunita, Kristina, Maria and Nina- in alphabetical order ;)
Every morning I watch some clip from Louise Hay or her movie. Her focus on mirror work, loving the self and inner child work is so impactful, I don't know what I would do without it!
I hope and pray her legacy will live on for eternity as the world could always do with more self love!!!
In the group meditation today, I saw a huge, bright sun shining bright which I truly believe represents her energy now.
