I simply cannot believe it's New Years already! I was planning a lovely quiet night in with self and self, but the Universe has other plans and I'll be Dj-ing for the last bit of the evening! Fun! Now is a perfect time to reflect and gear up for 2019!

There's no real significance with the start of a year, other than that which we give it. But it does present a great psychological refresh. It gives a chance to clear out the cobwebs and have some great intentions.

Here's some ideas of what you can do (and what I usually do!):

• A set of affirmations for the year- what are the main things you want to achieve and how do you wish to feel?
• A rampage filled with a stream of positive consciousness that you can ready daily
• A list of achievements that you made happen this year- they can be physical and emotional
• A list of things you would like to achieve- emotionally and physically
• Things that didn't quite go according to plan this year and you would like to shift in the next year

Reset, refresh and do your best to keep conscious. As always, a huge, infinite thanks to everything and everyone for this year! I love you all!

Wow, another year is pretty much done! The time really has flown, I simply can't believe it. Although I love to be future focused, it's really important to take stock and realise one's achievements. A year is a long time and although it may not feel like it, lots has gone on. Doing some reflecting here's a few reminders and lessons I've gained from 2018:

- Don't get too attached, keep it like and let everyone off the hook. Everyone has their own motivations, reasons for being and acting the way they do. Even those you love dearly might act in ways you don't understand. Don't try to figure out anyone, instead just focus on your own well being, connection and aligning with self. Don't get too attached to anything or anyone as it's all transient.

- It's all about the fun times and good people. I love my me and me time- it's essential to my beingness. But we did also come here to play with one another. It's this connection with each other that lifts us to new levels.

- It's all about self and self. Having said the above, it's all ultimately about your journey with you and you. Anyone or anything else is just an activation point. When something or someone elicits a response, note what it activates within you and seek not to get them to fix it.

- Balance is key. I believe the soul and beingness seeks balance. If it lacks within self, it will seek that in something or someone else. The key is to find that balance within self so you don't need to have it reflected and slammed back in your face!

I was having a convo with a good friend of mine and they were complaining about various things and how hard life could be and such which. Whilst I could see their viewpoint, I chose to disagree as there were many positives to their situation.

Any situation you can find the good or bad, the wanted or unwanted, the positive or negative. Because everything exists and you have the power to focus.

It just takes practise and perspective. Don’t be afraid to ask others opinions (make sure they is positive though!) for a brighter, lighter view on things! Sometimes we just need a bit of ‘I didn’t see it that way.’ Which in turns makes for a different life experience.

Set your tone, see the world how you want to see it and have fun! Lighten up!

I love studying humanity and how we all work and such which. One thing which stands out, is that no matter how wonderful or perfect someone else might seem, we all gots out own shizzle to deal with. Everyone has fear, insecurity, not good enoughness to some degree. Even the most successful entrepreneurs have had their fair share (and more) of failure.

But one must conclude, as Susan Jeffers correctly pointed out- if everyone has fear but some are out there still doing it, fear can’t be the thing which blocks us. In other words, it’s not so much the fear or insecurity stopping people from doing things but how they handle and perceive it.

Embrace the things which you believe are your foibles. Learn how to control them and work them into a more manageable place. That’s the key to living a good life. Not hiding away from it all. Shine bright dear ones!

I was at work the other day, unloading a load of tupperwares full of food made by mumsie when a workmate turned to me and said what a huge lot of food it was. He mentioned how he wished his parents would cook him food (I think they’re in the non physical!). But it did make me appreciate how blessed I am to have that! I don’t nearly have to buy as much food as I would have to!

Just goes to show, there is much to appreciate in one’s life that might go amiss. You’ve got so much going for you that someone else would love to have. And vice versa. Appreciate what you have, especially as you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone!

I was listening to an Abe clip about a lady who was having issues with her mother as she had to move back in with her. Despite being a grown woman, she was transported back to being a child when in her mother’s presence- I can sorta relate! Haha!

Anyways, when she was speaking to Abraham she kept dipping in and out of specifics which were definitely not good feeling. Abe gently but firmly informed that they should go general whenever things get really negative. Instead of going into heavy detail about what went wrong and what’s not working, cover it briefly then move onto the solution.

It’s important to not overkill the detail of negativity. It can be really tempting to, but it’s not the greatest thing for your vibration. Instead be as specific as you can with good feeling stuff and back off that which is not working.

​Kevin Kwan, successful and now even more successful author of the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ book set was speaking about how he had to keep reminding himself it’s all for the joy of it all.

He had apparently a number of post its stuck everywhere- some of which made it to the film apparently- you need to keep a close eye out!

But he highlights a great point- it’s all for the joy and experience of it. We believe that in the having of something we think we’ll feel better and we use that to motivate us. Whereas if we can get to the joy and fun first, then things go infinitely easier. Not only are we enjoying the experience, we are going to attract a more pleasing outcome.

I think they were discussing the big issue of race in Hollywood and TV and such which. Ava Duvernay apparently said the wonderful thought of something along the lines of- instead of knocking on unappreciative doors, create houses for yourself.

And that’s really great thinking, because a lot of those who protest do that- they try to get those who will most likely never change their viewpoint to be different. And we’ve seen how badly that goes! ‘A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.’

Create for yourself the world that you want to live in, connect with those who have the same dream and use the contrast of those who don’t, to help you give birth to what you would like to live in your world.

The wonderful Gemma Chan was being interviewed about the character she played in Crazy Rich Asians. From the outside she has it all- perfect looks, millions (if not more) to spend, wonderful family, lovely husband…

But she brings the humanity to it all when she finds out her marriage is over. Or at least chooses to end it. Her husband never quite felt adequate enough for her and this and other issues led to his indiscretions.

Anyhoo, what Gemma wanted to point out that even though Astrid’s life seemed perfect, it was far from it!

We have the tendency to do that- presume someone’s life is better or more perfect than ours. And it might be, but it also might not be. We must appreciate what we have and how our lives are. Use others as a jumping off place for what we truly want, but focus on ourselves. You can’t really know what’s going on!

I like to believe that ultimately, everyone is inherently good. Everyone is trying to do their best in life and that’s all you can ask for. Yes, they may seem like an a hole and what not and I can’t speak for the criminals and such which, but at the end of the day, everyone is trying to feel better and live towards some improved version of themselves, even if it doesn’t look like it.

Open your heart and mind to others. Don’t be doormat, know your boundaries but ultimately know you’re safe and well. That you’re protected and taken care of and whoever you meet is meant to be there. It’s all ok, just trust and know you are divinely guided.

​It can be really tempting to get caught up in the recognition, salary, end result of doing something but the problem with that is, if you don’t get what you want at the end of it, then it can feel disheartening and a waste of time. This can lead to a negative spiral!

But if you consciously make sure you’re enjoying the process, the learning, sharing and experiencing of what you’re doing on the way to what you’re doing, then you’re having fun along the way. The journey, process and unfolding of everything is wonderful and you’re actually more likely to gain the outcome you wish to receive because your energy will be in alignment.

So have fun now, along the way and at the end!

Not to sound like an old fuddy duddy but I’m kinda glad I didn’t have all this tech when I was younger. I’m thinking it’s probably a little harder for the younger generation to navigate growing up when a lot of their self worth is tied to how many ‘friends’, likes and snaps they have and such which.

You must remember to not compare yourself to anyone! You are you- a wonderful, unique, individual you that is truly amazing and brilliant. No one has, can or will walk the exact path that you have and so, it doesn’t matter what anyone else is living. Instead, be true to who you are. Find as many things to appreciate, look for fun and joy where you can. Relax and congratulate yourself often.

Let go of the need for comparison and you’ll do fabulously!

I was having a wonderful conversation with a dear friend who was teaching about A Course In Miracles. She was basically saying that we are all one and the separation we see around ourselves is us being disconnected from the true reality of who we are.

The drama is other’s lives is not at the core of us, our true nature. Instead, it’s just the playout of events and circumstances going on in the here and now. If you can turn your mind to peace, calm, tranquillity and love and away from fear, guilt and not well being, then you’re in true connection.

To know that no matter what is happening, that it’s all ok and you’ll come out of it fine, is one of most zen things you can do. And at the end of the day, you cannot control anything outside of yourself- so let it all go!

​I was chatting to a friend about one of his new projects he was working on. And he was finding it difficult! He proceeded to reel off a list of names of friends he had spoken to, who also agreed with him about how challenging it was. I didn’t seem to agree with most of their opinions but it did highlight to me that whatever you believe to be true, you will make true. You will seek out those who agree with you, who also have similar situations and find evidence to back it up.

I would recommend being open to life. To tune into your thoughts and beliefs and see if they feel good, if you want them to be your life experience. If so, then keep them, if they are not good feeling and you don’t want it to become your reality, then affirm for good.

It is that simple in theory at least! But it’s part of being conscious!

​I love learning about other people, humanity and how people operate. One thing I’ve learned is that everyone has their own struggles, contrast, self doubts and things that push their buttons. So do not assume someone else has a perfect life. Because odds are they don’t. However, you can accept the perfection that is your life, right here, right now.

You are able to cope with any situation that comes your way and it’s ok to ask for help. Trust that the solution is coming to you and has already been birthed by your desire. The work is to just come into alignment with it. That’s the key!

It’s all ok, take a breath, relax and trust that the Universe has got your back. Things are always working out for you no matter what.

When peoples are mean to you, try not to take it too personally. Obviously if there’s a threat then in the immortal words of Whoopi ‘You in danger girl!’ and get outta there! But, generally speaking, if someone’s being insulting or whatever, it just gives you insight into how mean they are to themselves. So try to take it with a pinch of salt and not necessarily hurl insults back at them.

In an attempt of understanding work out what your part is in it. Is it your insecurities being played out? Is it your inability to speak up for yourself? Dig deep and maybe with the help of a professional or positive friend, see what’s going on.

When you’ve truly resolved whatever it is, then the indicator of that other person should fade away. It’s how the Law Of Attraction works! Be kind to them and you!

I saw this lovely quote by the amazing Susan Cain- queen of introverts. And it made the crowd laugh when she delivered this TED talk. Her point was that just because someone is loud and can lead a crowd does not make them the most qualified.

Instead, those who are introvert and are quiet who might not be as prominent in a large group. But that we have given things more thought and our ideas might indeed be more beneficial.

As spiritual people and looking for more, we tend to fall on the side of introvert, highly sensitive and may not feel our voices are as powerful or impactful or good enough. But it’s time to accept our power and to know for sure that all is truly well and we are great.

No matter how different you are, accept the greatness that is you!

Guadagnino has recently done his own version of Argento’s cult horror classic Suspiria! Seeing them either I will not but it sure do look good. There was a bit of wondering whether one of the male characters was played by Tilda Swinton. It was only recently that she revealed that Lutz Ebersdorf was indeed herself.

When asked why she replied ‘For the sheer sake of fun above all. As my grandmother would have it- a motto to live and die by- Dull Not to!’

What a wonderful and true adage to have as a life’s phrase. For the fun and experience of it. That should be the reason you do anything. Just to live and learn. That is such fun!

The old adage of ‘don’t put all your eggs in one basket’ is a wonderful phrase for investing. The premise that you shouldn’t put all your money into one vehicle is one everyone should be familiar with. Because if something happens to it, then you’re wiped out.

Instead, put a little over here, over there, over there and a bit more over in that place. What with the mini disaster that is Patisserie Valerie, I’m glad I don’t have all my eggs in that cake!
Same can be said of life. Don’t put all your joy into that one person, place of thing. Spread the love, connect with as many wonderful friends as you can, try loads of different hobbies and experiments. Learn as many skills as possible.

Somethings will land better than others, but you’ll be all the better off for it. For the rich and diverse experience.

So whether it’s money or life, be sure to diversify- it’s such an important concept! And have fun!

It would seem Patisserie Valerie has gone through quite the blip with regards to its financials! Not good but such is life and contrast. At this time, a couple of their branches were shut down due to rent non payment, eek!

With the prospect of having the company going into administration, I was having a cake panic! No more delicious cake. I wanted to buy a whole load to go into storage! It made me appreciate their wonderful treats even more so.

You just never know what’s around the corner, so you must do your best to appreciate as much as you can. Whether that’s the meal you’re eating, the shower you’re taking, the loved ones you’re talking to. Do your best to be thankful and you’ll draw more goodness to you.

So at the time of writing my dear favourite cake and investing Patisserie Valerie is in a lot of trouble. There have apparently been some dodgy dealings and the chief is pledging to put up £20million of his own money to prop up the company!

How sad, especially as I love it all dearly. But one must trust and know that it’ll be ok no matter what! It just goes to show that you never know what will happen! One day you’re eating gateaux, the next it’s out of business! Who knows what the future holds for the company but I like to think it’s sweeties treaties will continue to thrive.

Life is like a box of cake- you just never know!
