WHAT: In this school of thought, meditation is a quieting of the mind. Turning your attention to nothing/something neutral and allowing your mind to release any resistance. 10-15 minutes is the recommended time. Although any time spent in meditation can only be a good thing.
EXAMPLE: There are a variety of ways in which to do this. You can try sitting for 10-15 minutes in silence and concentrate on your breath, the hum of the air conditioner, the noises around you. If you find this hard, then some relaxing music is worth a try (my favourite way of meditating!). There are also guided visualisations on YouTube and other online sources. It’s definitely worth investing some time to find what works for you as this is a great process. You can do this on transport to work- put in some earphones and calm music on your ipod and just breathe. During a quick toilet or lunch break- even one or two minutes of stillness breathing during a stressful day can work wonders for your health. Adapt it to suit your life style.
WHY: Whilst we’d rather see you in appreciation and love (as these are the highest vibrational frequencies), this isn’t always possible. Reaching for no thought can be much better than negative thought. It’s also a nice way to reset the mind and body, slowing down the breath and letting the mind’s chitter chatter go. Your natural state is the highest of well being, but your vibration gets blocked and bogged down by negativity. If you can stop doing that, then your frequency will naturally rise. Abe gives the example of a cork floating in water- when you stop holding it down, it floats to the top. Meditation is a great daily technique you can implement if you haven’t already.
All is well!!!
Happy meditate-ing!!!
