Welcome to the 31 day processes course- one blog for each day of January. I’ve tried to make them quick and snappy so you can do them in 1-5 minutes! Obviously, please feel free to spend more time but even if you only spend 60 seconds being positively focused each day, it’s a wonderful start and you can take it to the next level from there. The point is to just start doing something positive on a daily basis. For me, a process is a tool you can use deliberately to get into a good feeling space- whether it’s putting pen to paper to write, using your imagination or just deliberately doing some fun things like dancing or listening to music. You’re welcome to join us and do each new process every day, you can dip in and out, do only that which resonates with you, or just pick your faves. Whatever you decide, just keep it easy and fun, do what speaks to you and do your best to feel good. I know that daily practice is one of the most important components in changing your life. Enjoy! NAME OF PROCESS: Working The Emotional Guidance Scale- One Thought And One Step Up
WHAT: Your emotions are your guidance through life. Abraham gives us an emotional scale ranging from the lower feelings (depression, anger) to the highest (love, appreciation). This is quite an advanced technique so see how it goes. You’re offering self talk or writing things that takes a situation that you don’t feel great about and working it into a higher state. In the spirit of keeping this as short as 1-5 minutes long, try to pick one thought which is up the scale from a negative place.
EXAMPLE: This is a summarized scale (see Ask And It Is Given by Abraham Hicks for the full whack): Depression/Powerless-Anger-Frustration-Hope-Love/Appreciation
My boss who mildly irritates me, he’s unreliable and a bit mean to his staff.
I am in Frustration.
Some Hopeful thoughts: Knowing what I know I can try to see the best in him. We are doing our best. I am in control of my life experience. He has no power over me etc. Keep trying until you find one thought which feels better, then milk and focus on it.
WHY: This is a powerful process if you can take the time to do the work. It is quite an advanced technique as you have to be self aware and identify where you are on the scale and then coax yourself up to the next stages. You may wish to enlist a supportive friend to help you. However, if you can truly release resistance and feel that emotion of relief, it can be staggering what manifests in addition to you feeling good!
