NAME OF PROCESS: Pivoting
WHAT: Pick three things that you are feeling negative about and write down the opposite of it. By knowing what you don’t want, you can work out what you do want. When you’re in a bit of a rut, feeling a bit negative or just listing in your mind how you don’t want things to turn out, you can flip it immediately and usually just state the opposite.
EXAMPLE: I don’t want to be late today – I would like to be early for work. I feel sick – I want to feel well. I feel nervous – I want to feel more confident. I am so stupid – I am actually very intelligent. I am poor – I want to be rich.
1 minute – write a few sentences of what you don’t want and pivot to what you do want
5 minutes – write about one subject you’re having difficulty with. Write what you don’t like about it and then write a paragraph about how you would it to be
15 minutes – pick several subjects which you would like to change. Write down the unwanted, then write as much as you can about what you want
WHY: We can get so focused on the negative and give so much energy to what we don’t want, we end up putting all our focus there. Thus feeling bad and drawing more of that to you. Some say that they don’t know what they want in life, in this case it can be quite easy to work out- it’s the opposite of what you don’t want. As you start stating how you would like things to go, then you’re changing your energetic state.
