Welcome to the 31 day processes course- one blog for each day of January. I’ve tried to make them quick and snappy so you can do them in 1-5 minutes! Obviously, please feel free to spend more time but even if you only spend 60 seconds being positively focused each day, it’s a wonderful start and you can take it to the next level from there. The point is to just start doing something positive on a daily basis. For me, a process is a tool you can use deliberately to get into a good feeling space- whether it’s putting pen to paper to write, using your imagination or just deliberately doing some fun things like dancing or listening to music. You’re welcome to join us and do each new process every day, you can dip in and out, do only that which resonates with you, or just pick your faves. Whatever you decide, just keep it easy and fun, do what speaks to you and do your best to feel good. I know that daily practice is one of the most important components in changing your life. Enjoy! NAME OF PROCESS: Some Self Care
WHAT: Taking some time to take care of yourself. Whether it’s today, tomorrow or even in a few weeks, diarise some time where you will take care of your mind, body or spirit by doing something which feels good to you. This could be having a nice meal on your own, a long bath, watching a movie, going on a holiday, dancing around the house to your favourite songs, attending a new group or anything that feeds your well being that you might not normally have the time to do. Try to make it a day but obviously any time for self care is better than nothing!
EXAMPLE: Next Saturday - I’ll give the kids to my partner or hire a babysitter for the evening and I will go to my favourite patisserie, order a nice piece of cake and coffee, bring along my ipad and maybe read a few chapters of my favourite spiritual book and then I will buy a ticket to the theatre and have a wonderful relaxing, fun time with myself.
WHY: It’s vitally important to carve out some time as regularly as you can to take care of yourself. The more well, abundant, happy you are, the more you can offer to those around you. You are your most important resource. When you’re able to put yourself first and make sure your wellbeing is at its maximum, then you’ll be truly able to assist anyone in anyway.
