So following on from the finance ting, we covered the importance of diversification. When your investing, this is crucial- have a wide portfolio of assets so if anything happens to anyone of them and there's a market crash, then you've got the support of the others, so you're not completely wiped out.
For me, the relative spiritual equivalent of this, is to diversify your tool set for when things go funky. When you're in a bumpy patch, it can be nigh impossible to reach for appreciation, so distraction can help- watching a movie, listening to music, doing something just to take your mind off the negativity can be handy. On the flip side, when you're on a good spin, you can milk it- make lists and rampages of appreciation (that you're doing regularly), let that feeling of exhilaration flow through your body.
Personally, I've always been a fan of having as many tools and techniques to enhance life performance. Good sports people will do things like Pilates, yoga and other body conditioning tings- it adds an extra layer of skill to their set.
Susan Jeffers wrote about creating a full life. If your life consists solely of RELATIONSHIP, then if your partner leaves you, you've got nowt! But if your life is made up of CAREER, RELATIONSHIP, COMMUNITY, FAMILY, HOBBY etc, then if one goes missing then you have lots to keep you occupied in any case.
I'm always a huge proponent of having as much in your ammo toolkit. That's why in each of the groups I will present different processes each month, as sometimes it'll hit the spot, other times it won't work at all.
Just keep at it and know how wonderful you is!
Happy diversify-ing!
