I was listening to End The Struggle And Dance With Life by Susan Jeffers and she recounts the charming story of when Ram Dass was lecturing back in the day when psychedelic drugs were the norm and helped the hippies connect to their higher consciousness.
There was a little old lady sat in the corner who was nodding along profusely! The more outrageous and fantastical his talk become, the more furiously she nodded in agreement. Making a beeline for each other at the end of the talk, he was curious to see what the secret to her ecstasy was. Upon asking, she whispered to him conspiratorially... 'I crochet!'
Probably not quite the answer that any of us would be expect, but hey- to each their own! And that is it init! To each their own- there are as many hobbies as there are perspectives and everyone has to find what floats their boat.
You came to carve out the life that works for you, not your parents, not society, not your boss, but YOU! Yes, we have many commitments and the advice is not drop everything and run away and join the Cirque Du Soleil (although that sounds like so much fun!). But I would say if you can be mindful about what you enjoy and just carve out some time to do that.
Nothing is more important than you feel good!
All is well!!!
Happy crochet-ing!!!
Lots of love, Nick Xxx
