A while ago, I saw Toruk- the Cirque showed based around the film Avatar. The reviews had been mixed and leaned towards the negative, or at least more so than other Cirque shows I'm familiar with.
I went in with an open mind and the set was stunning in the huge Barclay Arena in Brooklyn.
But, it really didn't grab me at all! It was nice enough but I just couldn't get into it, so I spent most of the time complaining in my head about it ha!
Now I have to admit I'm a wee bit spoilt with these, as I've seen a great number of shows and I do know what I like (you just can't top Vegas baby!).
Anyways, there were really tons of things to appreciate about it all- the wonderful costumes, the stunning airy arena and set, the number of empty seats so I could stretch out and so on... But I got stuck in what I didn't like about the show.
Wherever you are, there are always things to love or complain about. It's just up to you what you focus on.
