I was speaking to a friend the other day who organises events. And I really like his attitude to all of it. He was very much the mindset of that if there were a lot of people, then he’s done a great job but even if not, he’s still going to go out and have fun even if it’s on his own!
I think this positive internal state is what has helped contribute to making his events really successful- at least from a numbers point of view. It’s because he’s kept it open, even if only one other person shows, he’ll still go ahead and run it. Because he likes to be reliable but also, that one person would go away, hopefully come back and then tell someone else and so on. And that’s how it grows.
And his stuff has done really well! I truly believe it’s his openness and positive, relaxed, reliable mindset which has contributed to the organic growth of his events.
I really think the mindset with which you approach stuff is fundamental to how it turns out. Have fun no matter what, even if it’s just you and you!
