More stuff begets more stuff… An old parable apparently… Xxx

One of my spiritual friends recounted a very interesting parable. It went something like this… A guru told a man to go into a cave and mediate and be naked. The man didn’t want to go in naked so he put clothes on. He started to meditate but then the mice started gnawing on his garments, so he got a cat to scare them off. But then he needed milk to feed the cat, so he got a cow and then he needed a woman to milk the cow and so on…

So that’s why he was told to go in the cave and be naked! Sometimes, it’s good to be without baggage- emotional or physical. The simple life can be satisfying too! That doesn’t mean that it’s wrong to want or get stuff, it’s just an alternative way to be.
