This is not a surprise at all as we know negative thinking and stewing in such feelings aren't great for the vibration.
It's not so much the experience as it it our experience of the experience! Two people can go through exactly the same situation- one could find fun, empowerment, growth and all that good stuff from it and another could find it horrifying!
And the effects of negative focus are many- emotional, physical and mental.
It's ok to feel down and depressed- in fact it's good you're aware but do be conscious not to get stuck in stress and instead- reach for gratitude and appreciation!
