A journey of a gagillon miles begins with a single step- too right!!! There is a fine line between charging into something when you're/it's not vibrationally ready. But on the same note, I think we can end up talking ourselves out of things we really want to do because of fear.
We sometimes manage to terrorise ourselves into not trying something because we'll be rubbish at it, or why should we do something because what value can we possible add, when so many people out there are better than us at it?!
Sometimes you'll just have to feel the fear and do it anyway! One of Susan Jeffers' fear truths, is that we'll always feel fear in new territory. The key isn't to use this to disable us, but to help realise that it's normal. What we have to do is support ourselves enough to try in the first place.
It's also is important to find a warm, encouraging environment, because if you're feeling tentative about being in a new space and some twit criticises you, it can put you off for life! Louise Hay was told by a dance teacher when she was younger, that she couldn't/shouldn't dance, so guess what?! She didn't! And Louise carried that phobia up until her older age.
Susan Cain, queen of introverts talks of her 'year of speaking dangerously.' She pushed herself out there and did as much public speaking as she could. One school in NYC was wonderful. The first week, you just had to stand, say your name and that was it. Then week by week you did a little more and were encouraged by all. Toastmasters are an internationally group renowned for helping people with their public speaking- just find a group which resonates.
And odds are, once you've got over that initial fear of doing something for the first time, you'll wanna do more! How wonderful!
In this wonderful age of choice, diversity and info at your fingertips, you can find like minded people quite easily. And if not, set something up yourself!
Have fun and love yourself!!!
Happy brave-ing!!!
