He commented that he wasn't ready nor willing for therapy because he wasn't good at talking about his feelings. But he was willing to go along to a group of widowers which was started by a blogger who lost his wife.
They all shared their own stories and supported each other and more than most, it gave them a chance to be themselves. As men they didn't know how to grieve. And that's what he needed to do. But it was only seeing those who had been through it, he was able to have that self realisation.
That's the power of coming together with a group of like minded people. You may not have exactly the same situations but there is a sharing of similar things and to show each other that there is a way through.
