My friend was going through some relationship contrast and I dug out one of my fave clips from 'The Secret Behind The Secret' DVD- filmed by Peter Beamish as an intro to Abe. The clip was only about one and half minutes long but it was potent!
He asks Abe what should we expect from each other in relationships. And they reply 'Nothing.' And go on to explain that you should be self sufficient and instead of relying upon another for your connection, to focus on your relationship between you and you (and/or Source).
When you are fully connected you can allow the feeling of love to flow through you towards that other person.
What we all do is look to another and whilst they're shining the love onto us, it feels so good! But if they are in a place where they're not feeling good, Abe says it's like you're a puppet and they let go of the strings. You're reliant upon them for your connection and then it all goes tats up!
Focus on you and you and then all other relationships fall into place! That's the key to happiness and goodness!
