I was perusing Twitter and a celeb had posted an innocuous but fairly button pushing statement. I trailed down a bit for the comments going back and forth... and back and forth. And to be honest, I'm not sure if either party learned anything and did nothing but waste each other's time and inflame the other.
Or course such things open it up for conversation and learning but trying to get someone who doesn't agree with you, to agree with you doesn't seem very effective to me.
I felt drained just reading it let alone being an author to either set of comments.
It might just be my introvert personality but I say live and let live. Pay attention to what you beleive, you don't need to go shoving it in other peoples faces. Teach by example. Live an empowered, happy life and when others see you doing well, they may ask you and then let them in on your secret!
