The past couple of weeks I saw Hans Zimmer and Evanescence in concert (not at the same time, though that would be amazing)- OMG they were absolutely phenomenal! I can't even imagine the amount of hours of work that goes into getting that skilled (Tina Guo has played cello 8 hours a day since she was a kid!).
Anyhoo, I've been listening to their music for years- through headphones, speakers and all sorts. But nothing comes close to seeing them play in person. The amazing cellist from Hans, the drummer from Evanescence- he was insanely cool! I love it so much, I could easily see them play again.
You can do a lot of positive work at home, listen to the YouTubes, DVDs, CDs etc but there is little better than being in person with a group of like minded people. It shifts your focus, keeps you aligned and there's always someone to turn to if you need to.
We are social beings and whilst I believe that one doesn't need anyone else to achieve good things. There is something to be said about coming together and being in person at a live event!
