I was watching Michael Caine in a roundtable interview and he was talking about the beginning of his career. From a working class background and back in that time, his success seemed unlikely but he's done it and is one of the most iconic British actors!
He spoke about how he had a friend who was very selective about what acting projects he participated in and he'd wait two years for a project with only the directors he wanted. However it was so long between job, that by the time he got in front of the camera, he didn't have a clue what he was doing!
I'm a huge proponent of just getting out there and trying stuff, it doesn't matter if you're good at it or not. Just try a new fun activity, hobby or such which. Don't be too negative towards yourself if you're terrible at it- what do you expect?! You'll learn what you do and you don't like and that's all wonderful learning. That's what we are here for!
